The latest offering from
Sidhe Productions in custom Live Show Quality Arabian Costumes... This set NAN
Qualified at its first event, Stone Henge Eureka Live in Santa Barbara,
California on March 7, 2004 as well as a HUGE costume class at the MAD show in California in April, and will come with its NAN cards and blue ribbons.
This costume took a
little bit of work to complete, necessitating learning a totally new technique
for creating braids. All braid work in this set is comprised of 1/6th
strand floss 16-strand braids
in 100% rayon for the ultimate in show ring shine in both true red and turquoise
(this set is NOT PINK, though it may appear so on some monitors). I would be
willing to bet that you've never seen braids like these on another model-sized
show-ring costume, nor will you. This is not your average simple
three-strand or four-strand braid that's sewn together to make wider straps.
The braiding in this set is incredibly thin, and I'm sure the winning bidder
will simply be amazed. This is a totally new technique and this
costume is simply LOADED with tiny details.
This costume fits Peter Stone Arabians and
similar sized Breyers and resins. Minor adjustments to sizing can be made for
free, as long as you contact me first to find out if I can fit the set to your
model. This costume -will- fit models such as Peter Stone Arabian,
Traditional-sized Breyer Arabians (like Huck) and even larger resins such as
Nazeem or Mudir! Throughout the description, I've included areas where I can
customize this set to suit the winner's desires.
This set is Live Show Quality and is for TOY HORSES,
PLASTIC MODELS, NOT REAL HORSES!!
Refunds will NOT be given for failing to notice this fact!
This set took
approximately 95 hours to complete, and by far is my most incredible set, and
just speaks of things to come in the future from Sidhe Productions. Please
be sure to click on the pictures. They'll open in a new window in a larger
size for better viewing and more detail!
The entire tapestry is
edged with a miniature braid in an authentic zigzag pattern, and is entirely hand-stitched
into place. It absolutely ties the set together. The stirrups are hung on real
leathers and are sterling silver.
Close-up of poll
keeper. Even it's braided, and man, is that braid TINY! Also, a good shot
of the custom-made shark's tooth noseband, perfectly in scale. This bridle
adjusts at the poll which allows it to fit the greatest range of model sizes in
traditional to large-traditional scale in both plastic and resin.
Close-up of the detailed
braids edging the entire tapestry. These braids take approximately an hour
per inch to create, and I've been told that they look machine made, they're so
intricate. These, as well as all of the braids in this set are made with
1/6th strand embroidery floss in sixteen-strand braids.
This is the back of the
collar. Nearly indistinguishable from the front of the collar except for the
difference in pattern, don't you think? You could almost reverse this collar
and no one would be the wiser. I decided to not line this collar, because why
would one want to cover up such workmanship? I very carefully stitched and
attached the tassels by hand. Buyer's discretion, if you would like the
rosettes that are shown on the corners of the tapestry to be added to the
collar, there would be no charge to add them to the collar. If you'd like bigger or more pictures,
please let me know! You can also click on ALL of the pictures to view

This is a close-up of
the bridle. It has a custom-made, perfectly in scale, shark's tooth noseband,
and a proper curb chain complete with tiny S-hooks. The bit is sterling silver
and the reins are hung with little oval rings. The reins are not -tied- at the
rings, but rather, are braided on to the oval rings, finished in tassels,
resulting in a lifelike, seamless image. If the winning bidder likes, I
can add small tassels at the tops of the reins.
This set looks just stunning out in the sunlight, it absolutely GLOWS!
Top view of the saddle
seat and tapestry. Isn't that pattern just lovely? The seat is covered in a
luscious red ultrasuede, and is perfectly color-matched with this tapestry, as
are both colors of floss for the braiding. Please notice also that the
wither area is cutout and the tapestry edging extends to this area also, allowing the set to seat properly on your showhorse.
Close-up of the collar
and it's ties. These are -not- sewn at the junction, but rather, braided from
continuous strands of rayon floss, so there are no worries of the ties
separating from the collar. The collar goes from the main pattern on the
chest and splits and is braided into four ties that feature square braids with
straight runs of red and turquoise, ending in tassels. The only glue used in
the entire set is a tiny dab on the knots for the tassels, and to seal the braid
ends for the tapestry edging. The tassel knots are then pulled down into
the center of the tassel necks, so chances are you won't even see the knots
at all.
This set incorporates hundreds of Mill Hill glass seed beads in silver-lined
red, silver-lined turquoise and silver tubes. All of the braiding is done in
DMC rayon floss, in a fiery red and brilliant turquoise. The stirrups and bit
are sterling silver from
Wonderwood Tiny Tack. The elastic girth attaches with velcro, making pre-class
tacking a breeze! If the winning buyer would like a girth that matches the
braid-work, I can create one for an additional small charge with buckles and
straps as well. The drape is lined in black felt to protect your valuable
models. This color combination would look STUNNING on a variety of colors. Can
you just imagine it on a black?? Heavenly!
